Has it occurred to anyone that Google + Carnivore = Scary Shit?

After kicking around the, alebeit very impressive Google Desktop, it dawned on me that to harness this technology to global packet logging (ala Carnivore) would be a very, very scary thing.

Hollywood News: LES DEUX CLOSES

I just found out that Les Deux has gone South for the proverbial winter. She was always a good friend to me, and will be missed greatly. Michelle Lamy's fine personification of French Hollywood Perfection will live on in my mind as one of my favorite haunts of yore in the 'wood.

EarthLink is lame. Really f'ing lame. They have some phantom DNS entries floating around (for MONTHS!) that keep returning pop.earthlink.net as a server in the MX set. This is what is causing the error below. Everyone on the net has been bitching to EarthLink and they apparently can’t figure it out.

So here’s the hack that everyone has been doing:

Place this in your hosts file. It forces pop.earthlink.net to point to mx1.earthlink.net (as of 7/6/04 that is).
